Job Description

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Clerk of the Works to support oversight of construction projects for one of our valued clients. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in construction, building maintenance, or facilities operations to play a vital role in ensuring quality control, documentation, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. What you will be doing:

  • Monitor construction sites to ensure all work is performed according to contract documents and specifications.
  • Maintain daily logbooks detailing work performed, site conditions, and contractor progress.
  • Attend project meetings as the owner's on-site representative and report key updates.
  • Track and document changes, approvals, and construction activities in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Assist Project Manager with final walkthroughs and ensure proper documentation is completed for project close-out.
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with the project manager regarding progress, issues, and any required interventions.
  • Observe safety practices and report non-compliance as necessary.

What qualifications you need:

  • 2-5 years of experience in construction, building maintenance, or a related field
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and basic construction site safety practices
  • Excellent documentation, observation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in varied environments, including confined spaces and outdoor conditions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with others
